“I look for harmony in the space between forms.”

– Manuel Anton

Anton’s work is grounded in an ongoing study of color, shape, line, and spatial balance. Through limited palettes and deliberate forms, he creates minimalist compositions in which each element is carefully considered in relation to the whole. His paintings explore the quiet tension between structure and intuition, movement and stillness, allowing negative space to become an active part of the visual experience.

Biography

Born in Mexico and based in the United States for most of his life, Anton is a self-taught contemporary artist whose minimalist painting practice has been shaped by more than two decades working with image, composition, and visual storytelling. This foundation has cultivated a heightened sensitivity to color, line, shape, and spatial balance.

Through limited palettes and deliberate forms, Anton creates compositions that balance structure and intuition, movement and stillness. His work reflects an ongoing study of color theory, proportion, and negative space—where each element is carefully considered in relation to the whole.

“I am interested in what happens when color, shape, and line are given room to exist on their own. Each painting is an attempt to create a visual harmony where movement and stillness can occupy the same space.”

– Manuel Anton
