Biography
Mac Premo is an American artist based in Brooklyn whose practice centers on collage, sculpture, and installation made from collected and found objects. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, he has developed a body of work that examines the relationship between objects and their meanings, with each piece shaped by the stories embedded in its materials. His work often combines wood, assemblage, and unexpected materials into sculptural forms that feel both playful and intellectually grounded, reflecting a deep interest in systems, memory, and transformation.thenew+3
Premo’s art has been exhibited in galleries and museums in New York, Los Angeles, Washington, DC, Miami, Belfast, and at MoMA PS1 in Queens. He is also known for public art projects and large-scale environmental works such as The Dumpster Project, which expanded his collage practice into immersive space.
