Orna
Feinstein
Based in Houston, Texas, Orna Feinstein creates abstract works rooted in close observation of the natural world, with a particular focus on trees and their internal structures. Working across printmaking, sculpture, and installation, she translates tree rings, growth patterns, and organic forms into layered, dimensional compositions that explore time, repetition, and transformation. Her background in science informs a precise, experimental approach to materials and process, resulting in rigorously constructed abstractions that remain deeply connected to nature.
Feinstein earned a BFA in sculpture from the University of Houston and a diploma in printmaking from the Glassell School of Art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, following earlier studies in chemistry at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Her work is held in numerous museum and institutional collections worldwide, including the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; the Library of Congress, Washington, DC; the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts; the Museum of Geometric and MADI Art, Dallas; the Douro Museum, Portugal; and the Skopelos Foundation for the Arts, Greece. Multiple institutions acquired her work in 2021 alone, underscoring the growing recognition of her contribution to contemporary abstraction.
